This week I chose to highlight the chart of GoldSpring, Inc. (OTCBB: GSPG.OB). GSPG spent most of 2007 in a long-term down-trend, and was making lower highs and lower lows below a declining 200-day moving average (the red line on the chart above). However, in October, GSPG leveled off around 0.00070, then started trending higher. On Friday, GSPG hit a new high of 0.0148, an astounding gain of 2,000%.

With the stock this far above the 200-day moving average and gaining this much percentagewise, it is a dangerous time to get into this stock. However, keep it on your radar screen in case a buying opportunity materializes in it. Any stock that makes a move this powerful is likely to continue higher. However, just because it is likely to continue higher doesn't mean it will. Therefore, it is best to exercise caution and patience with any stock, regardless of what its price is.
