This week I chose to highlight the chart of AlphaRX Inc. (OTCBB: ALRX). For much of the past year, ALRX was in a non-trending mode, swinging above and below the 200-day moving average without sustaining movement in either direction for very long. However, all that changed in early November, when ALRX hit a low of 0.09 right at the 200-day moving average, turned back up, and started trending higher. On Friday, it traded at a new high of .22. In the process, ALRX has gone above the previous highest high of the past year or so. The move in ALRX is greater in magnitude than any of the moves in the past year.
With that said, this appears to still be early on in the up-trend. A lot will depend on the next correction in the stock. If ALRX corrects slowly and mildly and turns back up, it will be an indication that the up-trend is strong and that ALRX wants to keep going up. If, on the other hand, it goes down, rebounds, then goes down and makes a lower low, it will go the way so many such stocks have. But the recent up-trend of the past three weeks or so is compelling enough to put this stock on your watch list.
